In Ramanathpur, Jhalakathi, Pakistani forces launch surprise attack. Many people take shelter in the Sharifbari mosque to save their lives. The attackers pull out 17 people from the mosque, including A. Mannan, A. Salam, A. Hashem Majhi, A. Razzak Khan and A. Jabbar – all of whom were saying their prayers. Pakistanis force them to sit by the river, and open fire on them. Everyone is killed except for A. Razzak Khan and Nurul Islam Sharif who gets lucky and survive.
